Happy Sunday!

As hunting season quickly approaches, make sure to clean your guns and come by to sharpen up those skills. We are happy to clean up that ole gun up for you, so swing by and drop it off or come by for a visit!

We started the month off with Cajun Wheelers, Lafayette’s only youth wheelchair basketball team. The LA State Police flew out a helicopter for the kids to check out and sit in for some pictures. It was truly heartwarming to see the kids out here, shooting and visiting with their guests. Big shout out to everyone who helped to make this shoot a success! Y’all make sure to make this one next year if you missed it.

Next up, we had a ladies day event put on by Lafayette Safari Club International. The ladies got 2 hours of instruction and made memories. They learned safety and learned basic shotgunning techniques. SCI does plan to do this again next year, so be on the lookout for your wives and daughters- let’s get them out here shooting!

On August 17th, we had Bunkie High School join us for their 17 Annual Sporting Clays tournament. The town of Bunkie shows up and shows out for these kids every year and it’s truly incredible. This shoot has really established itself well with fun shooters as well as the competitive ones. They make sure that all registrants receive a door prize and have TONS of auction and raffles items. They’ll be back with us next August, get a team in!

We finished the month off with NSCA “Turning Up the Heat. Attendance was great, targets were challenging and lunch was fantastic both days. Chops Specialty Meats does a wonderful job for our shoots and we’re proud to be affiliated with them. If you haven’t tried their Chicken Salad yet, do yourself a favor a stop by for a tub, small or large! Bert Stelly won High Over All on both the Main event and the 12 Ga Super Sporting. His dedication to the sport is unmatched and we would like to say “Congratulations” to him and all other winners. For all scores, please go to www.scorechaser.com
